Terrace House was established by the Social Services branch of the Presbyterian Church in 1976 and, after the creation of the Uniting Church in 1977, was run by the Uniting Church Child and Family Services. In 1979, government reports described Terrace House as a 'scattered group home' and a 'hostel'. It closed in 1980 and the program moved to Kingsway, in Nedlands.
