The Governor-General has appointed a six member Royal Commission and announced the Terms of Reference for the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister Julia Gillard announced the creation of a national Royal Commission into Child Sexual Abuse. The Royal Commission will be inquiring into the criminal physical and sexual abuse of children, and the concealment of these criminal practices. The Family and Community Development Committee have called for submissions for the Victorian Parliamentary Inquiry into handling of child abuse by religious and other organisations.
The Committee has released a Submission Guide which is intended to assist interested parties in the process of preparing a submission for this Inquiry. Submissions close Friday, 30 August 2012.
