Summary
[Taken from the New South Wales publication Connecting Kin: Guide to Records]
St Elizabeth's Girls Home, Mayfield first opened as a hostel in 1923 but was converted by the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle to a home for orphan and destitute girls in 1926. It was relocated to Singleton in 1942 and closed in 1977. It was run by the Sisters of the Community of the Holy Name until 1937 and thereafter by the Church Army.
