The Kahlin Compound was a government run institution established in Darwin in 1913. When the compound became over crowded in the 1920s, the children were sent to the newly opened home at Myilly Point. When the Kahlin Compound closed in 1939, the children were transferred to the Retta Dixon Home at Bagot Reserve.
