Summary

[Taken from the Queensland guide, Missing Pieces (2001) p.30]

Alexandra Cottage was located at 50 Lorward Street, Bardon. It opened in September 1960 and closed as a Family Group Home in 1993. Alexandra Cottage was originally run by the Methodist Church. In 1977 the Uniting Church took over the running of the institution.

The Uniting Church has advised that they hold no client records of former residents of Congregational, Methodist, Presbyterian and Uniting Church institutions. Any existing records were transferred to the John Oxley Library in Brisbane. These records only relate to church administration and operations. There are no individual files of former residents.
