Prior to 1969, the Croagh Patrick Orphanage was run by the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul, and was known as the Croagh Patrick Home.

The first two volumes in this Series contain handwritten entries giving details of children admitted to the orphanage from 1929 to 1960. Volume 1 contains Date of Admission, Name, Date and Place of Birth, Parental details, By whom recommended, Date of Discharge. Volume 2 contains Name, Date of Birth, Date of Admission and Date of Discharge. Volume 3 covers the period 1961 to 1968 and contains handwritten completion of Catholic Welfare Bureau Admission Forms.
