The Children's Commissioner and Children's Services Appeals Tribunals Act 1996 provided for the appointment of a Children's Commissioner and the establishment of the Children's Commission and Children's Services Appeals Tribunals. This act has the full title "An Act to provide for the appointment of a Children's Commissioner and the establishment of the Children's Commission and children's services appeals tribunal, and for other purposes" (Act no.51/1996). This act was repealed in 2000 by the Commission for Children and Young People Act 2000 (Act no. 60/2000).
