This act has the full title "An Act to provide for support, administrative services and assistance for Aboriginal communities resident in Queensland and for management of lands for use by those communities and for related purposes" (Act no.51/1984).
Between 2007 and 2008 the equivalent legislation relating to Torres Strait Islander Peoples was merged with this legislation. Before this time separate legislation existed relating to Torres Strait Islander peoples. The title of this legislation has also changed overtime.
