This act has the full title "An Act to amend the Aborigines Act 1971-1975 and the Torres Strait Islanders Act 1971-1975 each in certain particulars" (Act no. 3/1979).This amendment act relates mainly to the establishment, running, responsibilities and powers of the Aboriginal and Islander Commission. This act was repealed by Statute Law Revision Act (No.2) 1995 (Act No.58) on 29 November 1995. This act was repealed after the acts it amends where replaced, it is therefore assumed that it applied to the subsequent legislation until 1995.
