The Gaols Act 1842 (No. 6 Vic, 1842, No.4) was passed and commenced on 5 October 1842. Its full title was: An Act for the Regulation of Gaols, Prisons, and Houses of Correction in South Australia. It was repealed by the Prisons Act 1869 on 9 February 1870.
