The Commonwealth Immigration (Guardianship of Children) Act 1946 related to child migrants who were placed in Tasmania. Child migrants were under the guardianship of the Commonwealth Minister of Immigration, who delegated his powers of guardianship in respect of children living in Tasmania, to the Director of Social Services.
