Anglicare Tasmania, run by the Anglican Church of Australia, began in 1977. It assists people who have problems with housing, drug and alcohol dependence, mental health, old age, disabilities, and who are in crisis. In 2014, Anglicare runs a therapeutic residential care program for children on the north west coast.
