The Mental Diseases Hospitals Act 1926 also named 'An Act to amend the Mental Diseases Hospitals Act' (Act no. 17 Geo. V No.40) amended the Mental Hospitals Act 1858 (Act no. 22 Vict No. 22) empowering the court to transfer any assets or money from a person admitted to a Mental Diseases Hospital to their children as a form of maintenance. This act was repealed by Statute Law Revision Act 1934 (25 Geo. V no.78) on 31 May 1938.
