On 3 September 2006, the Melbourne Writers' Festival debated the issue of the stolen generations. Professor of Politics at La Trobe University, Robert Manne, prepared some background materials. Manne explained its purpose in his opening statements to the Documentary Collection. An index arranges the material in the Documentary Collection by State/Territory. Entries relating to Western Australia run from page 84 to page 133 and provide some powerful examples of the attitudes towards and practices associated with the removal of children. Some names and details of children are also included.
