Langford Youth Accommodation Service began around 1986 in Thornlie, with a hostel called Ravenhill providing accommodation for young people aged 15-18 years. The service was run by a private committee of management. It closed in 2001.

Details

The Langford Youth Accommodation Service began around 1986 and by 1991 was receiving funding from the Youth Supported Accommodation Program, which was a sub-program of the Commonwealth/State funded Supported Accommodation Assistance Programme (SAAP). The service was run by a private management committee, and had a hostel at 32 Ravenhill Road, Thornlie.

In 1995, the service was described as providing medium-term accommodation and support for up to four young people at a time, to help them transition from homelessness and crisis to more permanent accommodation and lifestyle stability.

The service had closed by 2001.
