Mission Australia's Youth Accommodation and Support Service (YASS) was established in 1991, funded through the Youth Supported Accommodation Program, which was a sub-program of the Commonwealth/State funded Supported Accommodation Assistance Program. At that time, it was described as providing crisis and supported transitional accommodation for young people aged 15-25 years. In 2013, it had some programs aimed specifically at 15-18 year olds.
