Principal Medical Officer (1895 - 1911)

The Principal Medical Officer was the senior administrator of the Medical Department, which was created as part of the Colonial Secretary's Department in 1895. The position was responsible for all hospitals in Western Australia, including the Fremantle Asylum and Whitby Falls Hospital. The part-time superintendents of those institutions reported to the Principal Medical Officer.
