Reception Cottage began operating on 11 February 1973. When the Glandore Boy's Home closed down that same month, a number of the buildings were renovated and reopened as cottage and family homes. This cottage accommodated twelve boys on a temporary basis. In 1975 this cottage was moved from Glandore to Somerton Park on the site of the former Seaforth Home.
