Slade Cottage began operating on 5 February 1973. When the Glandore Boy's Home closed down in that same month, a number of the buildings were renovated and reopened as cottage and family homes. This cottage accommodated up to twelve boys with 'emotional' or 'behavioural' problems. In 1975 Slade cottage was moved to Somerton Park on the site of the former Seaforth Home. It closed in 1988.
