Summary
The Correspondence Files, an archival series, are from the various government departments with responsibility for child welfare. There are items within this series relating to Tasmanian approved children's homes and government-run institutions for children.

A master index (AD204) to various series of welfare case files (such as AA226) also contains references to some administrative files.
The sequence 5/16/1 Welfare Reports contain extracts from the Supreme Court's Miscellaneous files which concern the custody and guardianship of children.
