Summary

Anchor Inc is an independent community based organisation serving Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs since 1989 when the need to support and assist children and young people requiring out of home care was recognised by local churches. Three teams- Child and Family, Youth and Community, and Homeless Support- provide a range of services. These services include: foster care, kinship care, mediation and counselling, community education ,and accommodation support including support for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
The organisation is governed by a Board of ten community representatives with expertise in governance, business, marketing, education and training and financial management. The CEO reports to the Board, and has two direct reports-the Client Services Manager and the Business Manager. Anchor Inc employs approximately 40 staff and relies on the services of around 100 volunteers. Local community organisations including service clubs, businesses and churches also help to support Anchor Inc.
