Abstract

'Signposts: A Guide for Children and Young People in Care in WA from 1920' was published online and in book form by the Department for Community Development in 2004. Signposts identified all the known Children's Homes and their operating agencies that were subsidised by the government departments responsible for child welfare from 1920 to 2000. Where possible, contact details were given so that people could find records about their time in out of home care.

From 2007, the contact details for Homes and agencies included in Signposts has been kept up to date by the Department for Child Protection.
