This article from The Sunday Times announced that Moola Bulla Station was to close. It quotes the Commissioner for Native Affairs, Stanley Middleton, who explained that 'the administration' of Moola Bulla had 'imposed on the welfare and clerical staff of the Native Affairs Dept. an unbearable burden of work and responsibility.'

The article also reported that the 'institutional section' of Moola Bulla would be transferred to a new site near the town of Hall's Creek.
