[Taken from the Western Australian guide Signposts:]
Fourteen was a provider of accommodation for 9 teenage boys - a half-way house for those boys on trial leave from Riverbank [see entry], and as a "temporary haven" for those who were suddenly without other accommodation. (Annual Report of the Department for Child Welfare, 1971).

It was managed by the Department for Community Welfare, predecessor to the Department for Child Protection.
