This register contains basic information about children under the care of the State Children’s Department in 1920 and 1921. Each page is divided into four with two squares at top and bottom. The register is arranged chronologically and provides: (1) Name, (2) Age, (3) Birth date, (4) Religion, (5) Sentenced or Movement from and to, (6) Where in service or where institutionalised. Each entry has a file reference such as 893/20 [meaning number/year] referring to a correspondence docket, which may be held in the State Children’s Department correspondence files. Children’s Homes mentioned in this register include Seaforth Convalescent Home (1921 – 1946) and Edwardstown Industrial School (1898 – 1950).
