This appeal register contains information about children attending Yasmar Children’s Court for appeal hearings, many of whom would have been detained at the Yasmar Remand Centre. The register is now held by Museums of History NSW (State Archives). It includes information such as the name of the child (appelant), date of the hearing, offence charged with, notice lodged, and the result of appeal.
Access to these records is currently restricted. In New South Wales, records relating to individuals, such as case files and correspondence are closed to public access for 100 years. Records such as registers and indexes are closed to public access for 80 years.
