In 2010 the management of Boys' Town Engadine recognised the need for a residential girls unit. It changed its name to the Dunlea Centre and established the Margaret Unit to help young women in need.
The Dunlea Centre provides a range of services to adolescent children and their families who are at risk of family breakdown but wish to restore their relationships. It provides family and individual therapy, academic and life skills education and residential care for boys and girls. It also provides out of home care for children.
The Dunlea Centre follows the Salesian 'Preventive System' of Don Bosco, although the Salesians are no longer actively involved in the Centre.
