A case file may include any of the following: Complaint and Summons, Warrant for Detention, Queensland Police Inventory of Property, Orders of Committal, Orders Under the State Children Act, Westbrook admission cards, summary of school results, misconduct records, letter of discharge, and official and personal correspondence.
Boys who were convicted or deemed neglected by the Children's Court were sent to the reformatory at Westbrook, usually until they attained the age of 18 years. The reformatory was known over time as the Lytton, Diamantina and Westbrook Reformatory School for Boys, and then the Farm Home for Boys, Westbrook.
Please note: It appears that contents of some older files were disposed of and the folders reused for later case files, as names and previous admission numbers and dates are crossed out on the inside cover of many of the files.
