Carinya Family Group Home was established to be more like an ordinary home with the number of children kept fairly small and a married couple running the Home. However, a child welfare officer from the Social Welfare Department visited Carinya regularly.
In the Report of the Stolen Generations Assessor, Carinya Family Group Home was identified as a children's home where members of the Stolen Generations were placed.
