Kickett speaks about her parents and about moving to live near New Norcia Mission, W.A. when she was 5 years old. She and her siblings were later removed from their parents, with Kickett herself being placed in the dormitories at New Norcia Mission and two of her brothers being fostered to the United Kingdom. She describes living conditions at New Norcia. At the age of 13, Kickett ran away from New Norcia and refused to go back. She talks about her parents' efforts to find all their children, and expresses her opinion of the policy of removal.
