Centacare, Broken Bay was established in May 1988 following a restructuring of the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney, which resulted in the creation of the Diocese of Broken Bay. The role of Centacare, Broken Bay was to provide a range of professional community services within the Diocese, including the provision of extended and crisis care programs for children and young people. It provided foster care and out-of-home care residential services for the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay at Sherbrook House (1991-); Stephen Street Hornsby (2002-2004); Orana Chittaway and Kangy Angy (2005-); Thanbarra Normanhurst and Kenthurst (2006-2012); Illoura Waitara, Wahroonga and Epping (2006-); Tristania/Grainger Arcadia, Beecroft, Cherrybrook (2006-); Peats Ridge and Wyoming and Saratoga, Avoca and Erina (2006-). People who lived in any of these facilities can contact the Senior Manager, Out-of-Home Care, CatholicCare Diocese of Broken Bay.
