The Sisters of Mercy were responsible for the administration of several children's homes owned by the Catholic Diocese of Goulburn including St Joseph's Orphanage, 1864-1975 and St John's Home, Goulburn, 1905-1975 which amalgamated into St John's Home, Auburn Street in 1975.
