Notifications of Discharge is an archival series held by the Institute of Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea Archives, Stanmore. This Series of records was created by St Johns' Home, Goulburn. The Series is made up of three volumes containing copies of Notification of Discharge forms completed to comply with provisions of the Child Welfare Act 1939. The information in the registers includes: name of child; address of custodian; date of removal; removed to care of (name, occupation, address); husband's name and occupation.The records are managed by the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea (ISMAPNG).

Access Conditions

Application for access must be made, in writing, to the Archivist, providing personal identification documents to establish the right to access information. Physical access to the records is not permitted due to their fragility and the need to protect the confidentiality of information concerning other persons. Information will be forwarded by mail.
