This act has the full title "An Act to amend the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities (Justice, Land and Other Matters) Act 1984, the Liquor Act 1992, the Local Government (Aboriginal Lands) Act 1978, the Local Government Act 1993, the Local Government (Community Government Areas) Act 2004 and the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000 for particular purposes, and to repeal the Indigenous Communities Liquor Licences Act 2002" (Act no.30/2008). This act focused on alcohol restrictions in specific Indigenous communities, the establishment of community justice groups to be established outside these communities, and the transfer of monies from the Aborigines Welfare Fund, its closure and replacement with the Foundation for the benefit of young Aboriginal Queenslanders. This act was repealed by the Acts Interpretation Act 1945 (s.22C) on 1 July 2008.
