This act has the full title "An Act to amend the Community Services (Torres Strait) Act 1984-1985 in certain particulars" (Act no.44/1986). This act mainly focused on the establishment, funding and running of Island Councils. It was repealed by the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (No.2) 1994 (Act No.87) on 1 December 1994
