This act with the full title "An Act to provide for the protection of the lives of children and for their sexual safety, and to amend other Acts relating to the protection of children" (Act no. 17/2008) enabled the Magistrates Court or Children's Court to prohibit previously convicted child sex offenders from engaging in certain lawful conduct, particularly that which would involve contact with children. As of November 2014 this amendment is current.
