The Mental Health Act Amendment Act 1960 (Act No.35/1960) was passed and commenced on 3 November 1960. Its long title was 'An Act to amend the Mental Health Act, 1935-1959'. It repeals Section 20 of the Mental Health Act 1935 and includes provisions for leave of absence for Superintendents or medical officers of a mental health institution.
