The library catalogue includes the description: Warrawee, the building depicted, is located in the suburb of Grange, Adelaide, South Australia, and was purchased in 1950 as seaside accommodation for holidaying inland children, particularly Aboriginal children. From 1953 Warrawee also operated as a hostel for inland children studying in Adelaide. With the creation of the Far North Children's Health Scheme in 1957, Warrawee was extended and used for inland children, again mostly Aboriginal, who needed to come to Adelaide for specialist medical care.
