The Register of Prisoners Received into and Discharged from Gaols other than at Hobart dates from 1910 to 1937. The Register gives the name, age, birthplace, offence, sentence, and reason for discharge of each inmate. There is a gap in the records between 31 December 1917 and 1 January 1936. These registers were presumably entered in Hobart from information supplied from other gaols. The first volume is in two sections – ‘Launceston’ and ‘Country Gaols’. The Country Gaols are not distinguished individually. The second volume has separate sections for each gaol.
