Ministering Children's League, Victoria Branch

Details

The Ministering Children’s League was a British organisation founded in 1884, with branches operating globally and across Australia. The League conducted charitable work, such as supporting, fundraising for, and running various institutions such as hospitals, respite/convalescent homes, and children’s homes. The League was non-sectarian and included adult and child members. It operated with the objective that its members should do at least one good deed a day, and should promote an unselfish and charitable character.

The Victorian branch of the League was established in 1890. It purchased a clifftop property in Queenscliff, and founded the convalescent home, Cottage By The Sea. In 1998, the branch, Ministering Children’s League Inc, changed its name to Cottage By The Sea Queenscliff Inc.
