The Western Australian Government Gazette is a periodical that has been published in WA since 1836. It gives a good insight into the life of the WA government and its interaction with citizens and organisations in the State. The Government Gazettes record information that includes: Changes in the laws that affected children in out of home care; Dates when new laws came into operation and when old laws were repealed; Details of new regulations to support the laws, and repeal of old regulations; Contracts that have been awarded for services; Grants of land to charitable institutions; Government inquiries; Names of government officers, including police; Names (and changes of names) of government departments and agencies.
