State Library of Western Australia
This is a collection of records of the Anglican Church in Western Australia that is held in the Battye Library. It contains items from Anglican churches, parishes and institutions around the State. The collection is arranged by location and there is a summary of each of the items in the collection. There may be information of interest to people who were in out of home care as children, particularly those people looking for baptismal certificates. Highlights of this collection include the Annual Reports and Rules relating to some of the earlier Anglican Orphanages and Homes for Children, which have been microfilmed. The State Library of Western Australia has created a finding aid (known as a 'manuscript note') to help people locate the information they need in the collection. This finding aid is MN 614.
Many of the records relating to people who have been in out of home care are restricted to protect the privacy of individuals, but there are also many items of interest which are open to the public.
