The Christian Brothers Oceania Province was established in 2007 and brought together the previous provinces within Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, including the St Patrick's Province of the Christian Brothers. The new province was created to improve administration and enable the organisation to expand again. Its work focuses on adult education, social justice activities with refugees, asylum seekers, indigenous people and disadvantaged youth. The Christian Brothers Oceania Province formed Edmund Rice Education Australia to separate the governance and administration of the Christian Brothers' schools in Australia in 2007.
In 2019, all Oceania Province Archives were transferred from locations around Australia to the Kelty Archives, in Parkville, Victoria.
