The Education Act 1932 repealed all former Education Acts. It provided for a secular and compulsory education for children between the ages of 7 and 14. 'Blind', 'deaf', and 'mute' children had to attend school in an institution if their parents could not provide an alternative education. In effect this meant that the children would be sent to the Blind, Deaf and Dumb Institution.
