Sister Kate’s Children’s Home Inc was the new name given in 1948 to the Children’s Cottage Home Incorporated. Sister Kate’s Children’s Home Inc continued to govern Sister Kate’s Children’s Cottage Home at Queen’s Park. In 1955, governance of the Home was transferred to the Presbyterian Church.
Children’s Cottage Home Incorporated was established in 1935 to govern the Children’s Cottage Home at Buckland Hill (Cottesloe) and the Sister Kate’s Children’s Cottage Home at Queen’s Park. In 1948, the name of Children’s Cottage Home Incorporated was changed to Sister Kate’s Children’s Home Inc.
Identitywa was established in 2001 and continued the work of the Western Australian disability support agency, Catholic Care. Identitywa is an agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Perth. In 2014, Identitywa provided accommodation for children with disabilities.
Catholic Care was established in 1977 as a ‘self-help’ group of parents whose children had disabilities. It became a provider of accommodation and support services for children with disabilities in Western Australia. In 1981, it became an agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Perth and in 2001, Catholic Care became known as Identitywa.
The Victoria Park Library holds a local history collection which is designed to preserve the history of the Town and information relevant to the area. The collection includes maps, photographs, newsletters and oral history interviews, which includes mention of children’s Homes.
The Prince’s Trust was established in 1976 to improve the lives of disadvantaged young people in the United Kingdom. In 2011 the Trust merged with another charity, Fairbridge, making The Prince’s Trust the contact to access Fairbridge Society’s records. In 2024, The Prince’s Trust was renamed to The King’s Trust.
