The Adoption of Children (Amendment) Act 1987 amended the Adoption of Children Act 1964 to provide that the Director should take into account the indigenous, ethnic or cultural background of the child put up for adoption. This act has the full title “An Act to amend the Adoption of Children Act Amendment Act 1983-1986 in certain particulars” (Act no.6/1987) and was repealed by Statute Law Revision Act (No.2) 1995 (Act No.58) on 29 November 1995.
