Card Index to Registered Premises/Premises' Histories - Infant Life Protection

This series consists of two sets of indexes to the names and information about premises registered as Homes for the care of State wards. The index sets are titled ‘Old Registered Premises’ (dated 1906-1985), and ‘Registered Premises’ (dated 1962-1996). Both include names and addresses of people or organisations responsible for the Home, registration number for the Home, and additional remarks, and sometimes contain information about children living at the Homes.

Access to these records is restricted for 100 years in order to protect personal privacy. To apply for access to these records please contact Queensland State Archives.

Records

The first set of indexes, titled ‘Old Registered Premises’ (1906-1985), often include information about children living at the Home on the back of the card, including name of child, date of admission, and registration number. At the back of this index are a small set of cards containing information about children. These cards are as follows:
