Case Study 3: North Coast Children’s Home was a public hearing of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, held in Sydney from November 2013 to January 2014. It inquired into the experiences of former child residents at the North Coast Children’s Home in Lismore, New South Wales. During the hearings evidence was heard from former residents of the North Coast Children’s Home, as well as former and current staff of the Anglican Church, including the Anglican Diocese of Grafton.
In October 2014, the Royal Commission subsequently published its findings in the Report of Case Study No. 3: Anglican Diocese of Grafton’s response to child sexual abuse at the North Coast Children’s Home. The webpage for Case Study 3 published on the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse website includes the final report for Case Study 3, transcriptions of each day of the public hearing, exhibits and submissions related to the Case Study, and a list of witnesses who gave evidence during the Case Study.
