Child Support (Adoption) Act 1988, Queensland

Details

This act with the full title “An Act to adopt the Child Support Act 1988 of the Commonwealth insofar as that Act applies to or in relation to the maintenance of children and does not otherwise extend to Queensland, to authorize the Governor to make certain arrangements for the purposes of section 20 of that Act and for related purposes” (Act no.106/1988) marks the decision to implement The Commonwealth Child Support Act of 1988 by Queensland. This national act had already been taken on by New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania and set out provisions for ‘maintenance’ payments for children and families. This act was repealed in 1990 by the Commonwealth Powers (Family Law – Children) Act 1990 (Act no.37/1990).
