Description: This is a photograph of the mother’s dormitory at the Cicada Home in Croydon. It shows a bright room with at least six single beds, each with white sheets and a white canopy suspended above it. There are wooden chairs next to each bed, a table with a vase of flowers in the centre of the room, and a trolley with a water jug and basin visible in the corner. It was published in the 1912 Annual Report for the State Children Relief Board. This photograph is part of a collection of photographs from children’s Homes and Institutions held by the NSW Department of Community Justice.
